Hynes Convention Center:

You’ll find details below about accessibility at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. If you have any questions or specific accessibility needs, please contact us at meetings@geron.org. Our team is happy to assist.

In the meeting rooms, chairs will be removed from a row to accommodate mobility assistive devices. Reserved seating will be available in the front row for anyone who requires closer access, including those with mobility, auditory, vision, sensory, or other specific needs.

Continuing Education is available for purchase for the GSA 2025 Annual Scientific meeting and is jointly provided by Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and the Gerontological Society of America.


To participate in the continuing education program for the GSA 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting, signup when you register for GSA 2025.


If you have already registered, modify your GSA 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting registration to add a continuing education to your registration order.

For all emergencies, call the Hynes Public Safety Command Center at 617.954.2111.
They are in direct contact with local emergency services and will call 911 for you.
If you call 911 yourself, immediately notify the Command Center so they can direct responders to your location.


Not informing the Command Center may delay emergency response.

The family lounge is located on the 3rd floor of the Hynes Convention Center in room #307. This lounge is available for all attendees with children to use during GSA session hours. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please visit the Family Care webpage for additional information.

With advance notice, auxiliary hearing devices are available on a first come, first served basis. Contact meetings@geron.org to inquire.

Accessible elevators are available on each floor of the convention center to access all areas of GSA events.

Location:
1st Floor, South Lobby of the Hynes Convention Center — near the elevator, closest to the Prudential Center entrance.


This enclosed, private lactation space is provided for nursing parents seeking a clean, quiet, and comfortable area to pump or breastfeed. The Mamava pod is a self-contained, ADA-compliant suite designed by a New England–based company committed to supporting breastfeeding families.


Pod Features:

  • Two benches, table, mirror, and coat hook
  • Occupancy-activated lighting
  • Ceiling vents and exhaust fans
  • Dual hospital-grade outlets and USB port
  • Adjustable lighting and airflow (via the Mamava app)
  • ADA compliant with 60" turnaround and dual grab bars
  • Please note: Refrigeration is not available — plan accordingly

Access Instructions:

  • Ensure the door sign reads "Vacant" before attempting entry
  • Enter code 8008 on the keypad to unlock
  • If the sign says "Occupied", the pod will remain locked until vacant
  • Once inside, lock the door to indicate it is in use

All-Gender Restroom Locations


To ensure an inclusive and welcoming environment for all attendees, one all-gender restroom is available at each of the following locations:


  • Hynes Convention Center: 3rd floor, near Meeting Room 300 (see screenshot below)
  • Sheraton Boston Hotel: 3rd floor, in the center of the meeting room level, located near the Conference Room and Hampton Room (see screenshot below)






Only dogs and miniature horses qualify as service animals. Individuals with disabilities may bring their service animal anywhere they are allowed to go. The animal must remain under the handler’s control, typically with a harness or leash. Learn more about Massachusetts service animal laws here: mass.gov link.

The Hynes Convention Center has wheelchairs available for use on a first come, first served basis and must be returned before departing the building. A form of ID will be required to sign out a wheelchair. 


For day-of wheelchair requests, visit the Public Safety Office on Level 1 in the Main Lobby.


Attendees can rent mobility scooters to help navigate the event comfortably and independently. Rentals are available for the duration of the event. Please contact the provider directly for pricing, availability, and reservation details.

Lost and found is located at the Registration and Customer Service counter on the 3rd floor of the Hynes Convention Center. Visit this area to claim or turn in lost items.
